Vatican City

By chance, we went to Vatican City on Wednesday morning-- now if you are there and the Pope (il Papa) is in town, there will usually be a public service with the Pope participating that starts at 10:30 AM.   On this Wednesday, the program involved pilgrims who had traveled from all over the world and also about 150 brides and grooms who were to receive a papal blessing.

We just kept walking as far forward as possible and we managed to get in pretty close.  Before the Pope speaks, he parades in a circle around the plaza -- he is still quite magnetic and a true rock star. And we were close enough for a good look as you will see.
